Tall Gladiators

Hello.

Judging from the weather this last few weeks, it seems like summer has finally creeped in. (Praise Jah!) 

So I have been wanting to get one of these tall gladiator flats for the summer but I have not gotten around to getting them yet. They are not particularly new or anything but let's just say they resurfaced with a louder bang this spring.

Crops and Tribal'

Don't be alarmed, Im still alive. *sigh, well nowhere to begin really. I have been on some unexplainable hiatus; for does of us in the Midwest and East coast; polar vertex 1.0 and 2.0 got the best part of us to say the least. Spring oh spring, I calleth, where art thou!  I'm hoping that by next week spring had better be on its way.

I really enjoyed having this soft pink lip color on. Wanted a break from the red.

 

I am absolutely inlove with my pants from BCBG, everything was a spontaneous decision really, I had initially just gone in there to check something out for a friend when I came across these pants and the outfit idea just popped in my head like a flash bulb. lol Oh and my shoes were purchased sometime in December, these have to be my highest pair thus far (tall girl probz) buh I went into the shop to look for winter boots and I came out the store with these babies instead LOL -_- story of my life.(in my defense they were clearing boots from the shelf already! lol ikr)

Well it's cold and wearing dresses or short outfits out has been a bit of a struggle;(and no I am not about to freeze in the name of fashion lol)  looking for ways to remain warm n in style has been enjoyable to work on. Hoping the coming weeks brings spring along with it. Amen

Kim Kardashian is a woman whose style I greatly admire. I like the fact that she is not afraid to wear what ever she wants, as long she likes it and it looks good on her. Um hello? its Kim Kardashian, every freaking thing looks amazeballs! on her (my opinion bro, chill out. hehe). She's bold enough to go the extra mile to achieve her fashion desires, and she pulls them off very well.

GONE WITH THE WIND

So I was skimming through some things online and I came across a leather skirt, and it hit me: I have not seen much people wearing this anymore. I remember when it recently started trending, and every other fashionista had it on, even I, wanted to get one (which i never ended up getting) but now a couple months later, this trend is no more in vogue? gone so soon? I should think. Its so sad because i did not expect it to fade out so quickly, i felt it was a timely piece, one that was here to stay. Apparently i was wrong. I'm glad i did not end up making the purchase, because i definitely would not want to purchase something that would fade out of fashion even before I get a chance to rock it. Im not saying people still do not wear it anymore, i'm only saying it is not timely anymore.

To sum it up, Ladies and gentlemen, I know we all love to buy stuff that are in vogue or trending, but at the same time its very advisable to purchase a timeless piece, so you do not have to worry if it will go out of fashion. If your skeptical about purchasing a trendy item, wait a couple months to see if its still in the spot light before you dive in, especially items that you know that are kind of unique or weird looking, but people only wear because its trending, well unless you have an urgent need for it. I personally like to buy trendy stuff, but I like buying timeless ensemble more. For example, the pointy toe pump trend, looks like it is here to stay. I personally love it, I do not care if its going out or not, which i highly doubt, because it is indeed a timeless piece.

Style Post: Tribal Print Maxi

Tgif! yeh?

This was an impromptu shoot, I had no idea i was going to take any pictures when i was leaving home. lol welp, life is filled with spontaneous activities innit?

I had on a flowered print jean vest jacket over a tribal print maxi dress, for a casual day out. Perfect on the go outfit for the summer period. I personally prefer to wear mine with a vest jacket, but most definitely this dress can be worn w/out the jacket, OR with a long sleeved denim jacket, to give it a more serious, yet flirty look. I would have taken ashot w/out the jacket, but as stated earlier this was an unplanned shoot.

P.S  Prints on prints? (you may be wondering) well this is 2013 yo get with the program. Lol apparently this is a fashionfoward matching according to celebs, most important thing is pulling it off well.

Only make up I had on was my Mac ruby woo lipstick(lightly applied) and I lined my brows.

Over all, I kept it simple and light. It's just one of those days where you want to be simple and laid back. Perhaps a pair of gladiator sandals, more accessories and a bit more makeup can hype up this outfit for a dressier look.

"So I’m sitting on my bed and going through pictures of what our dear ol’ celebrities wore to the Cannes Film Festival that was recently held in France and in my head I can hear Joan Rivers (who everyone loves to hate) scream out at some of the ridiculously dressed stars. Personally, I love Joan. She has no problem telling you what you’re wearing is total rubbish. If only we had our very own “Joan Rivers” for our Nigerian Fashion Police… Although I think Patience Ozorkwor would be a perfect fit. Yes? No?(for non-Nigerian readers, Patience Ozokwor is a Nigerian actress, she's known to be very bold like Rivers)
   
       If we did have a Fashion Police show back home and it wasn't airing on TV stations like NTA, Channels, or OGTV, (major TV stations in Nigeria) the presenters would probably be people who also need good fashion skills…it’ll be a case of the pot calling an electric kettle black. I remember watching a Nigerian imitation of E!’s Fashion Police a while back and literately rolling on the floor with laughter! So, we shall begin by comparing the clothes that celebrities wore to some Nigerian Red Carpet events to those of other celebrities in Hollywood  and you can be “Joan Rivers” for a few minutes…"

Who says you cannot wear an outfit twice?!?

I have noticed over time that people, mostly fashionista and celebs feel that it is wrong to repeat an outfit or even an item of clothing. Well definitely everyone has their own opinion, but I personally feel it does not really make any sense. Why would I buy an item of clothing only to wear it once and do away with it? Yes I know i'm not a celebrity , but even celebs should not have to go through the whole pain of trying not to be caught in the same clothing twice because of the media. That's all kinds of wrong! There are plenty ways to re rock and switch up an outfit, so why do away with em' when you can have plenty do overs with em'?

Anyhoo while some celebs think its wrong to repeat, some dont care and have rerocked their clothing over again. Below are a couple photos of celebs rerocking their outfits.

I have recently been wanting to do something feisty with my nails, because it has been a while i have indulged in nail designs and stuff like that. Thinking of something nice to do to your own nails? well below are photos of some pretty cools nail designs that may inspire you---or not. lol
